Future Rituals is an 18-month collaborative program by Kairos Futura and BASE Milano that bridges the gap between grassroots environmental reality and contemporary artistic expression. Working with young creators (ages 18–25) from remote Kenyan communities adjacent to rewilded landscapes, the initiative provides a structured curriculum focused on speculative design, material upcycling, and world-building. Rather than treating youth as passive recipients of environmental policy, the project positions them as cultural producers who will translate local ecological insights into wearable future artifacts and performance rituals. The journey culminates in an intensive residency in Milan, where Kenyan and Italian artists will engage in a reciprocal, peer-to-peer exchange to co-create a hybrid dance production—offering a collaborative model for global climate dialogue rooted in shared knowledge and creative equity. for what’s ahead.
