EDUCATION SHOULD GIVE CHILDREN THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT WITH NATURE, using art, science and world building…

IMMERSIVE HOLISTIC EDUCATION THROUGH A STEAM BASED APPROACH.

  • THE PROGRAM

The forest immersion project is a unique nature-based experiential program impacting children from the inner city in Nairobi. The goal is to enable these children to experience and enjoy nature while learning about ecology through an arts-based approach that gives them an air of wonder and appreciation for the natural world.

  • THE FUTURE GENERATION

We cater directly to 9-14-year-olds from the slums of Mathare and Mukuru in Nairobi, who have almost no access to green spaces in their neighborhoods. While nature exposure has been proven to foster health and wellbeing, the children come from areas facing ecological collapse alongside a myriad of social and economic stressors. Our program is an avenue to promote wellness to affected children through nature access and exposure while also stimulating ecological awareness among the children at their impressionable age.

  • Lasting impact

By focusing on depth over breadth, we endeavor to have more impactful programming for the children. The program's uniqueness also stems from its underlying STEAM-based 24-week curriculum, integrating science, technology, and the arts to produce an exciting, holistic, and immersive experience in nature. Supporting the project will ensure we have the resources needed to sustain the program (encompassing arts supplies, transportation, catering, and park entry fees), besides crucially expanding the program to ensure its impact reaches a wider population of in-need inner city children.
